Reverse Engineering 5th Edition Design Rules
-

It's not as easy as you might think. Yes, the weapons look like they're pretty much the same, but there are many subtle differences.

The obvious stuff includes things like two sizes of ram plate and two types of "low profile." HD tires have 2 extra DP and Accelerations come in two flavors now: 10 and 20.

But looking at Division 5: Set 1, we can infer a few other things:

According to the Killer Kart "Tailgunner" option, a subcompact can mount at most 3 spaces of weaponry to a side. Maybe the 1/3 space rule is changed to be rounded up now??

Upgrading to HD tires does not affect weight. Do tires no longer count against the chassis weight, or do HD tires weigh the same as standard tires?

Looking at the Shrimp, upgrading from HD tires to High Performance tires seems to cost as much as upgrading from Std tires to HD tires on the Killer Kart. But looking at the division 5 Pro versions of the vehicles, we see that upgrading to Hvy Suspension, improving the tires, and adding a targeting computer raises the price by an even $2,500. Those changes seem to cost a lot more than what the original rules suggest!!

Those that like algebra and logic puzzles may want try determine the formulas for Acceleration, Top Speed, and Confetti Numbers.... I just hope that the design rules are released to play test within the next 6 months or so.
